Default If I make my Ranger taller...

...will I get more critical hits due to height advantage?

Also, will I be able to shoot farther because I am standing higher (rather than standing lower with less height)?

And will I be able to shoot over more obstacles (due to height advantage) so that my "view of the target isn't obstructed" all the time?

--Is there any way to ask ArenaNet about this?

I don't think you'll be able to shoot farther or get a better critical hit advantage, becuase then what would the advantage of being little be? Not to mention that would not be balanced. As for shooting over objects, I have no idea, but thats a pretty good question.

Based on the fact that I played per-searing with both the 'smallest' body and the 'tallest' body w/an Elementist and that, while I noticed a difference in the height of grass around me, I did not notice any ability to shoot over fences or around corners that I couldn't before, I'd guess....no.

There seems to be a pre-defined wall/height/cornering concept re: target blocked, that doesn't take into account one's height. Height seems to be mostly for show and visual fun.

Soon as I say that, tho, someone will say I'm wrong. Which I may be. No serious testing done here or anything.

As someone stated above, I highly doubt it. If that was the case, we'd have a world full tall people.

Well, in response to the "We'd have a world full of tall people if this was the case," what if people just didn't know any better and that's why they don't make tall characters? Even if it makes a 1 damage difference, that's what matters.

But since ArenaNet is cool and they probably wouldn't make things unbalanced like that, you guys are probably right that the height is just for visual fun and nothing to do with arrow shooting.

--But one more thing, so even if my Ranger is short, I'd still be able to shoot my arrows over fences just as high as a tall Ranger?

The flipside, however, would probably be smaller people are harder to hit. So it'd be a defence vs offence trade. But, no, I doubt the validity here. Especially because I've seen creatures facing away from me shooting at me due to some positioning glitch. Also, if it really did matter, then you really shouldn't be able to shoot through solid bushes as easily as you do with perfect accuracy. Basically, if your height affects how well you shoot around obstacles, there would be situations where you'd be missing a lot more, and doing a lot less damage, that don't seem to crop up.
